- How is the Pacifica trader ranking determined?
- From Pacifica's public leaderboard, which lists every account, we keep accounts with at least $10K in account value and trades in the period, and show the top 100 by return or P&L. Pacifica publishes P&L but no return, so return is P&L divided by the account value at the start of the period (current value minus period P&L). Accounts whose starting capital is below $5K are excluded because their returns are inflated.
- Where does the data come from and how often does it update?
- From Pacifica's public REST API (leaderboard, positions, account settings and prices). The ranking refreshes up to once an hour; the per-asset position aggregate re-fetches each ranked account once an hour. Positions and account-value history on a trader profile refresh about once a minute. Accounts that turned on Pacifica's privacy mode stay in the ranking, but their positions are not shown. We use only data the exchange publishes, never scraped screens.
- How do 24h, 7d, 30d and all-time returns differ?
- We use the P&L Pacifica's leaderboard computes separately per period and divide it by the account value at the start of that period. 24h is the last day, 7d and 30d the last week and month, and all-time is cumulative since the account was opened. Shorter periods swing with one or two trades, so look at 30d and all-time as well.
- How is leverage calculated?
- Pacifica publishes the leverage each account set per asset in its account settings; that number is shown. Where no setting exists, leverage is total position size divided by account value. Position value and unrealized P&L are computed from Pacifica's mark price, and position return is unrealized P&L divided by margin (isolated margin if set, otherwise position value divided by leverage).
- Why are there no fills?
- Pacifica requires authentication to look up an account's fill history, so it cannot be fetched from the public API. Profiles therefore show current positions and account-value history only, and the recent fills table is left empty.
- Can I put my own returns in the ranking?
- Yes. Sign in to SatoshiNote and connect an exchange API; if you agree to be listed, you appear by nickname in the 'SatoshiNote users' ranking, which only signed-in members can see. Manually entered records cannot be verified and are excluded; only trades synced automatically count.
- Should I copy the traders in this ranking?
- This screen organizes public records for information and is not investment advice. Many top traders use high leverage, so copying the same positions can get liquidated on a small price move, and past returns do not guarantee future results.
